Review at 2014...

Shortly after New Year our foaling season started.
A straight Russian colt named D. Jack of Sultan sired by MM Sultan was born in the middle of January.
2 fillies came in March - SSpot Me D. sired by Massimo Ibn Mirokan and Utopia D. by SC Dagash.
Last foal was a colt by Van Gogh AM, he was named D. Double Up as he is the full brother to our yearling D. Van Marc
The breeding season started in March and it has been a long an busy season not ending until the middle of September.
D. Desert Eagle was the most poular stallion this year.
With such a busy season there has not been much time for riding activities.
How ever we did establish a new riding arena hoping to get time to use it more in the year to come.
SL Carrera went to dressage rider Maika W. Nikolajsen for dressage training.
They had their debut at the comeptition at Kirk, and was placed 2nd in classic pleasure.
Unfortunately SL Carrera is suffering from an older injure so by the end of this year he is in the middle of his recovering period of 8 weeks.
We dearly hope that he will recover in full and be able to go to more competitions with Maika.

As always we did a little buying and selling.
My former western stallion D. Shan´n Jan Memory was back home for a short notice. He was sold to Sealand after just a couple of months here.
Rose of Kunar was also sold to Sealand. Rosary D. and Amazing Grace D. was sold to the Middle East, but so far only Rosary D. has lsft.
The departure of Amazing Grace D. was delayed due to formalia, and since she is in foal and due in January, it became to late for her to travel.
So within a few weeks we will have her foal on the ground and she will go to her new home when the foal is old enough to travel.

In September we welcomed Wasaida APN and later on we also got the opportunity to welcome a daughter of our late PA Nafal Ibn Sharim named Egelys Nafira.
Both will be for sale to good homes in the year to come.

We also got the opportunity to meet with Miraculix SH - a 3 year old Shagya colt also sired by out late PA Nafal Ibn Sharim.
Miraculix was here for 3 weeks for preparation to the Shagya Licensing in August.
Miraculix was licensed! and by that our beloved PA Nafal Ibn Sharim is the sire of 2 licensed sons.
A fact that I am really proud of!
We also had some mares at the licensing - Zeems Cheeky D. was licensed in grade 1B, Eluniqa D. in grade 2A.
Maid of Emotion D. and Utopia D. both was awarded with 9 (max is 10) in their classes.

The absolut highlight if this year was with no doubt the arrival of MM Sultan.
For a long time I have loved and desired this stallion and finally we got ends to meet and was able to make him mine.
And mine he shall be for the rest of his life.

The 2014 season beat all records in more than one way and for that I am greatful. But also on myself I felt the price to be paid for putting so much more work on myself. This means that for 2015 we close down for inseminating mares with semen from outside stallions -I am just a human just like everybody else, and I too have a limitis for what I can handle and that limimit was found in 2014.

The 2015 season will also be the first season where Duval at the age of nearly 25 will only be available by frozen semen.
In this writing moment we don´t know the exact plan for the season/summer for SL Carrera - but when/if he is here he will be available as usual, and when/if not we have frozen semen as a buffer.
MM Sultan will join Massimo Ibn Mirokan and D. Desert Eagle and will be available as usual.
We also have 2 exciting colts, D. Van Marc & D. Unexpectable Colours that might be ready for breeding in the 2015 season.
In case of beeing ready their season will not start before May 1st and most likely it will be natural cover
so only experienced and NICE mares will be accepted and only 1 or 2 for each of them.

With a lot of stallions in our barn we look forward to a succesful 2015 season
and wish you all a Happy New Year and lots of luck in your barns.

Around 2 weeks ago I brought MM Sultan to the riding school for his debut in free jumping.
It was great fun and today I received some pictures.

Many thanks for the pictures Cecilie Kjær Rasmussen

Last weekend I was visiting Maika & SL Carrera
Maika had a feeling that Carrera was not working quite the way he was suppose to and that something could be wrong.
SL Carrera was checked by Maikas vet and by bending test he reacts on the right front leg.
The vet recommend that this issue is examined further, so today we went to the clinic.
Unfortunately it shows that SL Carrera has a bone formation in that right front.
The size of the formation tells the vet that the injure has been there a longer time.
It could even have been there for years without beeing noticed since not in intensive training.

SL Carrera has been treated for this and is ordered out of training for the next 8 weeks.
Afterwards he will go to the clinic again for a check up and then we should have a better idea of his future as a dressage horse.
This sadly means that we will not be able to show him under the sadle at the Trakehner Licensing in February.

Please note, that the issue with SL Carrera is not related to Maika in any way.

What we should have done, was to have SL Carrera checked by a vet before sending him in training,
I guess we learned that the hard way - now only time will let us know how high a price we have to pay for that mistake.

And then the GOOD news...
MM Sultan was also at the clinic for getting his teeth checked and x-ray.
MM Sultan did go though an x-ray procedure in The Nederlands, but we need a new one if we are to try to get him licensed.
So no surprice, but still we are happy that our vet found legs, neck and spine 100% okay and by this
he confirms the statement from The Nederlands, that MM Sultan has no issues that might affect him as a riding horse, and no inheritable issues like OCD.

December 7th
I did the first pictures of Egelys Nafira yesterday
It was very windy and not easy to hold the camera still, and that is to be seen on the quality of the pictures.
So I also did a short windy video - also not the best quality, but still clear to see that she is a great MOVER

December 6th
New arrival at Davidson Arabians!!
We welcome Egelys Nafira, a 4 year old mare sired by our late and beloved PA Nafal Ibn Sharim
Unfortunately it was too dark for making pictures when she arrived,
but there is a short and rather dark video of her on our facebook site.

The weather was absolutely lovely today, and MM Sultan and I enjoyed it working outside

October 18th
I believe that sometimes we meet a horse that makes a very unique and special impression on us.
A horse like that we will never forget, always have in our dreams and always desire.
Back in 2007 I met such a stallion.
I remember how my jaw dropped to the ground when I saw him blowing around in his pasture,
how my heart mealted when I was in the stable with him
and how I was thinking Oh my... This one REALLY has it all..
This big Straight Russian power house of movement with such extreeme type, such strong body and conformation
and yet so gentle, completely blew me away.
It is almost unbelieveable and the feeling is undiscribeable but that stallion belongs to me now..

I am so happy and proud welcome no less than MM SULTAN at Davidson Arabians!!
Thank you Abigail, I am forever greatful!
And thank you all our friends and followers on Facebook for the postive comments and pms - you are amazing!!

October 10th

SL Carreras rider Maika W. Nikolajsen has been in competing in Aachen with her own horses this weekend.
For the first time there was livestram from the riding competition and it has been a great pleasure
to follow the Danish riders - especially Maika and her big succes on the screen.

Maika with the Paltra Trophee
Maika was competing in 8 classes with her own 2 horses. Her best results was with her horse CA Zaro.
With Zaro she won the Paltra Trophee with a 1st place in class L* - Kandar and a 2nd place in class L* - bridle.
Classes with 24 & 22 riders!!
Again & again Maika HUGE congratulations!!
You are amazing, and I am SO proud to have such a competent and skilled rider for SL Carrera !!

September 21st
2 weeks ago SL Carrera left for dressage training.
Today I went to visit him for the first time and I am happy and proud to introduce you to his rider Maika W. Nikolajsen.
Maika is competing on international level in L- & M-classes with her arabians, educated by herself.
Her latest result is from Arabian Sporthorse Championships in Sweden where 3 M-classes, all ridden to more than 66%
gave her a 2nd place in the Elitecup.

We trust that when talent meets talent you have a great foundation for the future
- and I sure am very excited to see what the future will bring for Maika and SL Carrera!

September 20th
The last guest mare has left and with this we close down season a long but successful season.

July 2014

July 31st
The other day I got a call from Marianne Dahl, owner of Dubai Diva D.
She and her husband was on vacation in the middle of Jutland with horses and one of them was Diva.
4 years has passed since Dubai Diva D. left the stud at the age of 6 months, and what a
beautiful mare she has grown into :-)

She has raced  her first endurence races and is doing great, so more to come on that point I am sure.
Many thanks for your call Marianne, it was GREAT meeting you all again :-)
Dubai Diva D. is  sired by Dubai Pasha and is like our stallion D. Desert Eagle out of CAS Harmony by Simeon Sadik.

On my way back I did a short stop at Brita Christensens place to see her partbred filly foal sired by SL Carrera.
A very leggy filly was showing herself off in front of me. Even though the dam is a warmblood cross the foal is quite equal to other
SL Carrera babies I have seen - long legs, lots of expression, power and movements.

Once again congratulations Brita and thanks for your time on such a short notice :-)

July 27th
We welcome Miracuix SH, bred & owned by Pia Wange.
A 3 year old Shagya colt sired by our late PA Nafal Ibn Sharim.

March 24th
Just a few hours old - and yet with quite a story on her CV..
It was the very last dose of frozen semen I had avaialble from SC Dagash - and when coming to use it I discovered that the container had not been closed properly.. The evaporation in the container had been far to high and so was the temprature.. The straws were all iced together and grapping one - I got them all.. Holy shit I was thinking.. But still there were some cells looking quite active, so I inseminated Cheeky but didn´t really expect to get her in foal - but she DID conceive!
Now nearly 11 months later she decides to go into labour at the same time as the annual stallion presentation at Husted Arabians.. I had entered Duval, but Cheeky chose to keep me and Duval at home with the milk dripping.. It is the 2nd time she makes this stunt.. - and this year I really felt sure that I could go - because she never made an early delivery before - and due date was March 28th.. But I guess there is a first time for everything..
Tonight at 0.15 the alarm started and ½ hour later I had the foal..
A CHESTNUT FILLY!!
Gosh man.. How lucky is it possible to be...??

We welcome to the world UTOPIA D. !!

March 16th
Today it is 5 years ago since I brought Duval to Denmark at the age of nearly 19.
At that time I would never have believed that he would still be here 5 years later..
But he is still here, enjoying his life and is still going strong in all aspects.
But when I look close enough I see that he actually is getting older despite the beeing-5-years-old-impression that he carries so well.

Enough is enough and I will not push him beyond this limit.
So for the well beeing of this fabulous stallion and wonderful sire
I hereby announce that this season will be his last season available by fresh semen.

From 2015 he will only be available by frozen semen and only for mares standing in - or coming to Denmark.
